3D printing modes development for aluminum alloys
Target:
– developments of 3D printing modes for SLM technology for a series of aluminum alloys: with high ductility, heat-resistant corrosion-resistant, as well as copper-containing alloy (analog 1201)
Problem:
– absence of melting modes for new aluminum alloys
Solution:
– we charactered the materials, analyzed the literature, proposed a grid of 3D printing modes, printed the test samples, refined the printing modes, printed the samples for mechanical tests, and carried out the tests on verified equipment.
*the ductility of one of the samples was so high that the tensile testing machine did not break the sample due to the absence of tension (see photo)
